Let’s get curious! As writers and creators we watch and witness the world with great attention. Then, with imagination we offer that to the world–like love letters to the universe. This is an invitation to join me on this journey.

Susan #6 (1) copySUSAN CONNELL BIGGS writes middle grade and young adult fiction and non-fiction–stories that empower the voice and agency of young people. Her books highlight the deep connection we cultivate with ourselves, each other and the natural world. She also teaches high school English where she and her students cultivate curiosity and engage in complex and challenging conversations around social justice issues and what it means to be human.

Formerly, she served as Field Director for the National Writing Project, where she worked with educators and librarians across the country improving the teaching of writing and its intersections with social justice. She holds a bachelor’s from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and a master’s from Harvard Graduate School of Education. She is also a certified yoga teacher and Wholeness Energetics practitioner.

She is a member of SCBWI, a book reviewer for NCTE books, a NWP educator and writer, and a graduate of Bethany Hegedus’ in depth mentorship program at the Writing Barn. She lives in the hill towns of Massachusetts.

Susan is represented by Erzsi Deak at Hen and Ink Literary Studio.
